Silver Menorahs for Sale at 1stDibs

The menorah is Judaism’s most important symbol and is also the emblem of the modern State of Israel, appearing on its coins and all official documents. It is a candelabrum that lights eight candles and recalls a miracle story of freedom from persecution. As such, a silver menorah is both a sacred object and an elegant piece of jewelry for the home.

1stDibs has a variety of silver menorah for sale including vintage and antique versions as well as newer editions made by top manufacturers. You can find a wide array of sizes, styles and prices, with some pieces selling for as much as $52,750.

One of the more unique silver menorahs in our collection is a late 19th-century ceremonial lamp from Lviv, then part of the Austro-Hungarian empire. It is on view in the Museum’s European Sculpture and Decorative Art Galleries (Gallery 556), where it joins 10 other important examples of Judaica that are on display throughout the building during Hanukkah. A special handout listing this and other works is available free of charge at the museum’s Information Desks during the holiday season.

Another sterling silver menorah in our collection is a mid-20th century Israeli piece that came to us for repair and polishing. The arms were holding on to the body of the menorah with white first-aid tape, which was removed and polished carefully in order to avoid damaging the oxidized patina. This innovative repair was successful and the customer was satisfied with the result.
